Genealogy

JOHNN LEONARD KRATZ, 1756-1829, by Johannes Helmut Merz.   Hessen-Hanau soldier, captured at Saratoga, deserted at Charlottesville while a POW; married an American and settled in Kentucky; captured by the Indians and taken to Canada.   Returned to Hessen-Hanau.  Deserted there and returned to his wife in Canada.

THE SORBACH COUSINS FROM HESSEN-HANAU, by Robert E. Graham.   Story about David and Carl Zorbach from Hessen-Hanau who deserted and remained in America.
